Love and Life is a non-profit organization (NGO) whose main goal is to protect children who are in physical, emotional, mental & morally abusive and distressful situations. We work in India helping socially and/or economically distressed individuals and families meet their minimum needs. We primarily deal with children living on the streets who face lives of misery.

Malnutrition and unhygienic conditions are common and the incidence of children suffering physical, emotional, and moral abuse and distress reaches unimaginable levels. We attempt to address these conditions and ease the suffering.

We focus on saving the lives of the people we are dealing with. That is our first priority. We especially seek to help those who are in desperate situations. We provide medicines, food, clothing, hospitalization, surgery, and basic support for very poor people, free of cost.

We are focused on creating schools in areas where the villages have none or where the school is too far away for small children to travel to (in many rural areas the closest school is seven to nine kilometers from their homes). We provide shelters for children who end up on the streets of Mumbai. Huge cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore are not easy for small children and, in their quest for survival, they are subjected to physical and psychological abuse, violence, rape, poverty, drugs and death. We organize medical camps and support schools for children with mental and physical disabilities.

The people we work with really express gratitude for the help they receive. We can see the changes in them - they change their approach to life, showing a more cooperative attitude, responsibility toward their own community & solidarity with their friends. Their trust in us is the important bridge between us - between their needs and the help they receive. All interaction occurs with respect and consideration, which is very important. We share the desperation, the understanding and the solution. We create smiles and hope. This is imperative to gain the trust and confidence of people who have been neglected and discriminated against and who have suffered for such a long time. It is our joy.
